Subject: making a new UV map using RDS?

Spike ( ) posted Mon, 18 October 1999 at 11:58 AM · edited Sat, 28 December 2024 at 1:12 AM

Is there a way to make a new UV map of something using RDS. I have used UV mapper and I can't get it to do what I need with the model that I am working on. Spike

I haven't been able to get RDS to produce a good UV yet. Did you know you can remap the seperate parts of a model in UVmapper? Select by group or material then remap in each axis until it's what you want. -JH.

Yes Jeff I have been doing that. thanks for the tip. I have been tring to get UV Mapper to re map the long curls hair in Poser and have had some luck but it will not do it right. I try to remap one curl and have tried all the X,Y,Z options but it spilts it wrong. I want to split the curl front to back so I can just texture one side and leave the other side transpairent. Ya know what i mean? Spike

Yes I understand; it's just that RDS won't be of any help. Steve Cox said he was working on a new version of UVmapper that could "unwrap" the UVs of a mesh. Maybe that will be something that could help in the future. -JH.
