Stumbled across this site from my interest in architecture - Poking around, found dozens of 3D buildings, some lo-rez, some finely detailed - some even furnished. Temples, stonehenge, Frank Lloyd Wright, Cemetaries, & Aztec cities - mostly in DXF or OBJ formats. - I don't know if it's already known among Poser community - hope some of you find things you can use. (The downloads are free). happy rendering! http://www.greatbuildings.com/types/models/spatial_models.html

I found this a while ago, but most of the models seems to be in .3dmf format, and it's not possible to filter out the .3ds or .dxf ones.

Phantast, explain please? 3dmf, 3ds, obj, dxf, are all importable into Poser, correct? What was the problem you experienced? I have not tried to download any of these yet as I have a very slow dial up connection and there is no point in d/l if I can not use the models in Poser.

The 3dmf models from this site don't load correct into poser. There is an newer format error. :(

Most of the buildings are avail in several formats, .3DMF (3DMetafile) files can be converted to .DXF or .OBJ easily in an inexpensive shareware utility called 3D Exploration - homepage http://www.righthemisphere.com/3dexploration - I use it a lot to convert files to save space on my HD - easy Explorer-type interface. - Tried the Demo & registered next day. I use it to view, rotate, zoom, convert, organize, All my 3D downloads - even shows Pose Geometry files (they are just in .OBJ format, after all). I haven't had any trouble loading the buildings or their conversion in a couple instances. A wonderful selection. Here-s a screencap of their model of the Shakespeare's globe theatre

You're very welcome, Silver! Anyone else finds these bldgs of interest - especially if you come up with textures, etc or use in any renders, I"d love to hear about it. Either post a reply or EMail me. I've gotten a lot from this group, &, although I didn't make the bldgs on the site, I'd feel like I'd made a contribution to the group! Thanks to all!
