Okay before you go 'what the hell...', this is the original scan. The photo looks nothing like this - but when I tried scanning the photo as a colour photograph, the auto-level thing in the scanning software automatically turned the beautiful peach tones bright and ugly red. The only way for me to scan it without losing the colour was to scan it as a drawing, but it ended up looking like this. Otherwise, it hasn't been manipulated. It doesn't look like the auto-level thing in the HP scanning program can be turned off, so it will just have to remain this way...

Ideas: Check HP for software updates for the drivers, though they rarely update their shyte... boooo HP. Reinstall the drivers. Neither work, just scan it so you get the ugly crap, and adjust everything post scan. Auto leveling is just, well, cruddy. Like using an automatic camera after you've layed hands on a nikon fm 10.... drooooooooooool..... Anywho, there really HAS TO be an option to turn auto leveling off, so give it real good look through hun. ry

Oh, I have tried all the settings, I have read the manual, but there is NOTHING about how to turn off the auto levels so I am guessing I can't....which really sucks, cos believe me the colours in this photo are incredible, you just can't see it :(
