Greetings all! My name is Blacksteel, I have been working very hard with poser 3, poser 4 and bryce3, bryce 4. and a little bit of RDS 5.0, 5.0. I just wanted to thank all of you who post here, it has helped me greatly to understand how to make complex shots. And I hopefully will be comming up with more shots soon. Again I thank you, and keep up the good work! another newbee at large =) This shot "Shallow waters" is a 1/2 in 1/2 out shot. Poser models from Zygote, sealion by Debra (very nice one to thanks!)Splash/spray from RDS5.5 Rendered in Bryce 100%, Photoshop for text only. I would like your opinions or thoughts to this shot. Thanks Blacksteel

Love everything from the water spray to her expression. I've been working on something very similar, but obviously not hard enough. Keep it up.

I all ways thought I was reasonable good, but your pic is tremendous, specialy for a first post. Why not some crabs? only thing I could think of, also what the full URL for your site "Crystal Truths.com". How about whiskers on the seals? keep up the good work. byebye Gunbuster

heya, blacksteel (cool name) oh, i like it! dolphins... and sea lions... and fishies!! (yes, sometimes i'm easy to please. ;) ) it looks really cool. i like that piece of her hair that is floating up in the water, thats a nice detail that would be easy to overlook. you might've gone whole hog and done the floating cloud of hair in the water deal, but this is nice. another thing i might mention is some textures. the mermaid's tail seems to have scales and stuff, but her upper body seems to be mainly one flat colour, and so do the dolphins and sealions. i know debra got mitch to make her a really nice photo-texture skin for the sea lion, and that would've been nice. i also know its a pain to get the textures working in bryce, so maybe next time. :) (check the tutorials!)

Wonderful picture. As far as the dolphins' skin texture, they're in the distance, so you wouldn't be able to really see it anyway. Gunbuster, Blacksteel said this is a first post to the forum, not a first rendering, so I assume there is a lot of experience behind this, hence all the detail and effects. Great job, Blacksteel! Very cool scene. I remember seeing a tutorial on how to do this somewhere. It was in two different Bryce tutorials infact. http://www.aeol.com/brycepage/watertut1.htm http://visualmagic.awn.com/archive/archive06.html I think these are the ones. -JH.
