Subject: Anim8or any good?

Does anyone out there use this? Is it any good as a modeler? I'm really new to modeling, (my first taste was with the 3ds Max demo in the 3D World mag about a month ago. Boy, the tutorials in there were good! And even that small glimpse hooked me!) I just wondered what you guys thought of it. Is it any good or should I just reinstall the Amapi 4 that I got in my very first issue of 3D World magazine? (Since I sure as hell can't afford 3ds Max.) Any help (and opinions) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would go download the better working version of free Amapi 4.15 at http://www.insidecg.com/downloads.php it seems to be a little more stable for me. I'm wondering about Anim8or myself, it looks interesting, but I know nothing about it. But the free version of Amapi is a very good modeler, and is very capable.

I find Anim8or MUCH easier to use than Amapi, which I could never get my head round. Anim8or has a few idiosyncracies, but in general is a very useful tool and well worth getting.

I have both....I LOVE Amapi. But, since the free version cannot export .obj files, anim8or is my morph tool of choice....Nice big points shown.
