Please give me a couple tips? Sometimes when I install a figure I am asked for "where is ------.pict and I can see in the dialog a -------.jpg with the same name but it does not accept that. Also some times I install and then press on the figure and I get a blank stage

This is because sometimes the original texture is converted to a jpg to make the download smaller. If you can't find the right texture format, just hit cancel and say "no" when Poser askes if you would like to find missing files. Wait a few and the figure should appear with no texture. You can now go to the materials manager and load the jpg as a texture. As for the blank stage, seems like a common poser bug. I usually just restart Poser and try again. Hope this helps a bit. If the same pict is mentioned more than once, it will keep requesting it, and you have to keep finding it. One of the characters supplied with Poser4 mentions the same texture 18 times (I counted), so finding it gets mighty tiresome.

I think I know what he's talking about. I get this too. Someimes instead of giving you the actual name of the image it is looking for it literally just says -----.jpg. On my PC I see no file with that name and just figure the program goofd up and can figure out the name of the file for whatever reason, but it would be nice to know exactly whats wrong.
