After practising the render functions, I'd like to modelize my own figures ... so can anybody answer the following questions or tell me where I can find a Tutorial : - How to take a part of a character a use it for a new figure (Daredevil Boots for example) ? - Are there specifications for making a new part of a character (head,Hairs, Body parts) ? ... I'd rather work with Truspace ... - What is the best 3D tool to use for creating for poser ? - how to convert 3D objects (.DXF, .OBJ, .3DS)into poser file (.pp2, .Hr2, .cr2) ? Thank you for any help (and please remember that I'm a rooky ... )

Hi OJM, I'll try to answer your questions #1: If the boots are a prop, you can save them to your props library and add them to any figure. If they are an integral part of the figure, you'll have to get into slicing up meshes and creating new figures. #2: I'm not 100% certain what you mean by this. All body parts must have exactly the same name as the original Poser figure. #3: That's a matter of personal preference. There's no reason why you shouldn't use Truespace. Others like 3DS MAX, or Lightwave, or Rhino, or.... well, you get the picture. If you're familiar with Truespace (and it will import OBJ files) then go with that. #4: Import, rescale and parent your 3d object (whatever format), then just add it to the correct library. Poser will create the relevant rsr and pp2/hr2/cr2 files Hope this helps Paul

If you mean to make a poseable figure then you need to have a .phi file to go along with the .obj file. The poseable necklace that I've just posted on Fun Stuff has a readme file that gives a bit of info on this. For a more detailed explanation look at the tutorials on bushi's site. From memory his URL is http://www.spiritone.com/~bushi If that's not the correct URL there's a link from my site at http://www.sandylodge.demon.co.uk Maz
