While out tonight in miserable weather (ie. wet after a day of pouring rain) looking for our still-missing cat, I was going through a cut between some houses and in the yellow glow of the street lamp noticed something on the ground which moved as I got near. Yep, it was a little froggy. I ran the 100 or so yards back to the house and grabbed the camera then went back and got a couple of quick shots (well, about 8 but I still ain't sussed this thing properly in the low light, especially with macro, so I lost erm...4 to blurryness). Anyways, left him to it, got another 20 yards and saw another one. Same again. This critter is the 2nd frog...he's nicer than the first one which appeared to have a couple of nasty looking growths on him.....made me pleased I didn't try to pick the sucker up. Cheers - this is on 1600 x 1200 in Fine mode, a straight forward crop to this size. Now I've got a 64mb card and a 16mb card life is a bit easier - just need a spare battery and rapid charger. And a 128mb card.........and a bigger hard drive!!! lol

The color is very vivid and that adds to the image. The wet patio stone is good background. If you only lose half the shots of animals at macro range you are doing OK. I will second your find that 64 meg cards help and I have even rigged my van for recharging the LI batteries.

@Bill - Alas, I wish mine took LI's....the Fuji original replacement is 40, but I can get a reputable after-market one for 30....at the rate I'm going it'll have to be a must for the near future. I've just swapped the old Fuji (MX1200) for a laptop - trouble is, it doesn't have a USB port.
