Subject: Geometry Switching nightmares!!!!

I've been working on a geometry switching prop, and apart from one little matter have just about got it sorted.....now I'm in danger of loosing my sanity LOL! Basicaly the whole thing works, comes in attached to it's parent, but lower than it should be, although if I go to edit, restore figure it corrects itself. I've no idea what is causing it as the actual .objs are all in the right places - I've checked several times! Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on here please before I either go mad or throw my pc out of the window?

heyas; it sounds as if its init values are different from its memorized values. did you try hitting 'restore figure' then re-saving the prop? btw, as a side note, i want to mention that using swapping geometry in props is considered rather dangerous. ;)

Thanks Bloodsong that worked a treat, although I had to re-add the main object in CR2Editor, as it deleted it for some reason. Only thing is now I've been doing some test renders with it and switching through the dials quite a lot, and it just stops working for some reason - see what you mean about it being considered dangerous g Is this normal, or will I have to change it into a conforming figure to work? There's only one body part involved, as it is a set of 7 earrings for Victoria. Alla

heyas; hmmm... i really dont know, i never messed with the switching props after they told me not to ;) you dont need to make it a conforming figure, not if it is just one body part. you can just make it a one-body part figure, and name the part earrings, if you like (instead of 'head.') the only problem is, you can't get figures to remember their parents like you can with smart props. so... hmm, maybe it'd have to be conforming, after all. im not sure, sorry :/

Thanks, I'll have another play with it in the morning and try to make it conforming (keep your fingers crossed for me LOL!)
