Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 15 11:01 am)
Hard to say what would be the most profitable to start with. You might contact some of the artists who create clothes & ask which is the most popular of their products. or try making alternate textures for some of the buildings, environmental props (mountains, such). Personally, I'd love to see someone collect the templates for all the midaevil stuff, clothes, knights, buildings, coaches, animals, etc.; and make some good filthy lived-in looking textures. Nothing spoils a good historical render for me, like seeing all the barbarians, knights, farm animals, & squalid hovels all looking like they were just hosed off for a KMart ad photo-shoot! Even some grubby skin textures for the most popular figures, (MilKids, Vic,Mic,Dork,Posette,P4Kids, etc.) is something that would enhance the realism of many renders. In particular, a good Hyper-Freckled, bruised, scrape-knee'd grubby fingernailed, grubby tomboy-type texture for the MilKids is something I've never found. (what can I say, I find the flaws & imperfections in anything & anyone is the most endearing. I've see dozens of glossy, hyper-idealized textures & characters available for sale & for free, but if you look around you, how many folk really look like that? True, Poser art is often a form of escapism, but how real is it when everyone & everything is pristeen-right out of the box perfect?) Oops, how'd I get back on my soapbox, again? :-)) Anyway, this is a good place to get some feedback for your question; If you don't gey many responses this time, try posting on a Friday evening early. Weekend posts often find a lot of artists have time to give concise, considered input. Or, start on a couple of items, post WIP renders here & ask for input. Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth. Good Luck!
Thanks :) I'm actually working on a set of free medeival textile textures with lots of distressing (dirt, cracks, tears, etc.) So keep an eye out for those and my sunburnt freckled Mike texture "Liam" also coming soon to freestuff. :) I've been mostly guessing at certain items popularity by looking in the galleries and seeing what pops up the most.

I am going to be updating my all my current product lines like my Castle Pack, Fantasty Village Set. Which have sold well at least by my standards :) Once I have fixed them up with UV maps and such I am sure some new textures would be appreciated. I must warn you there may be one other texture map artist that may do this. If your interested email me. Or if you simply want to make add on's for my stuff let me know about that to. Though I will say Mike and V2 products seem to sell best. I intially had thought the Poser 4 Dork and Posette would be the best way so as not to limit your target audiance. But I believe that line of thinking was flawed. leather-guy, I do intend to try and do the Pirate thing we had spoken about but I fear it is a long way. I am still trying to improve my current product line for my clients before moving on with many other products. I know when I buy stuff I always enjoy getting upgrades or add ons. As you can see I am still trying to sweaten the deal for those who bought my stuff. Best of luck with your sales,Lyra. Lyra, I checked and didn't see any thing in the Free Stuff. I would recomend posting 1 or 2 Items there first. To help with a learning curve. I also recomend getting a beta tester. I would be willing to give it a try as long as I don't need Mike or V2. If you get 3 Beta Testers that are merchants you can skip the free stuff section suggestion, but let them know this is your first product. If you choose to do the free stuff section you could always put a post that will only be up for the first 50, or whatever number you like and then you can sell it later. I haven't done this, but that sort of like Daz offring a fee item one week and putting it up for sale the next. Any ways you can email me at contact_meproductions_@hotmail.com. Deimos. P.S. Sorry I almost forgot, you can always check "the wishing well" it is at the end of the fron page it is a request list for merchants to develop products.Well I have a pile of stuff on the freestuff over at the 3DCommune - I've just been to lazy to repost it here. :) I had to pull it a few months ago while I was between ISPs. You should look at my Tudor Walls in the Bryce section at the Commune - that about what you were thinking of for your village? I've done lots of wall textures. I've even had the slightly strange experience of seeing one of my walls in a magazine (contest of some sort) Most of my stuff is hand painted either on paper and scanned, or in Pshop.

Heyas, Well I've decided I need to suplement my income a tad. So I'm finally gonna cave and make something to sell in the store. So, does anyone have any requests? Things I was thinking of: textures for existing clothing (MFantasy suit, V Fantasy Suit, SergeMarck dresses), characters for Mike/dork, textile sets, characters for Vik2. What would you want to buy? :) I like challenges (and yes I'm finishing up my 12 free mike textures. Soon - I promise) Lyrra
