Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 25 6:57 pm)
This forum's as good as another for that question. Bryce can't always distinguish all the textures of more complex models like Vicki. I have this problem often myself. You're porting in obj format, right? That's the best way and make sure you don't weld when you export, that can mess stuff up. Anyways, bryce has it's own special way of applying textures. Sometimes it gets it right porting from poser and other times it won't, for example, it'll pic one material of the head and apply it to the whole head sometimes. Were you're eyelashes set at black, by any chance? Anyways, you just have to select the body parts one by one, eyelashes, eyeballs, eyewhites, iris, skinhead, etc. and load the maps for them in the material editor. You have to reload the map for each body part if there are going to be differences in the materials, such as the ambience or trans, etc. Each piece gets it's own material and map, unless the settings and map are going to be exactly the same for more than one piece, in which case they can share the same map and settings. If you're not sure of the ins and outs of that, I can explain further. Trans maps, in bryce, can be tricky if you don't know how to apply them. They're a breeze once you know how. Bryce doesn't read transmaps from poser very well. You pretty much have to redo those after importing. If you need more details, instant message me and we can go through it in the chat room or someway. That's how it got explained to me. Hopefully I'm online when you message me. I'm on Belgium time.

I don't think it really would have made a difference, but after I upgraded from Bryce 4 to 5, everything seemed to come together with no problems whatsoever, as evidenced in the picture below. But thanks for your help, both of you. It came in handy. ^_^This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible. I'm not sure I'm posting this to the right forum, so I'll just make an ass of myself and do it anyway. I'm trying to port a Vicki model over to Bryce (specifically Handspan Studios' Brigit with a Kozaburo Alice hairstyle in brunette), and when its complete, it's reading the texture maps completely wrong. As a result, I've got a blackface blonde Brigit who is otherwise fine (the body and clothing textures ported over with no problem). Anyone have any idea how I can fix this before I run out of hair to tear out? Thanks.
