heyas; hmmmm...... the easiest thing to do would be this: load the two dresses, and make sure they are zeroed out. turn off all ik, open the joint parameter window to press the 'zero figure' button. make sure you do both. then select the hip and body of each and set the trans dials to zero. now, after you do all that, if the sleeves you want to chop are not on the right position, move that clothing figure until they cover the other sleeves properly. move the hip or body, use the scaling dials, whatever you like. then do file:export: wavefront obj. select the entire dress figure, and un-select everything from the other, except the sleeve bits you want. save the obj in the runtimegeometries directory where the original dress obj is. name it something new, like 2sleeves.obj or what have you. now you need to open the original dress' cr2 in a cr2 editor, or a txt editor. you're not going to get fancy, so a txt editor will do fine, as long as it wont save any fancy document characteristics, just plain text. do a search and replace to find the original dress.obj name and replace it with your 2sleeves.obj (or whatever). save the cr2 with a new name. (like 2sleeves.cr2, how's that for organization?) the new dress with 2sleeves should conform like the original dress. there may be two problems: first, if the two sleeves have the same material name, you won't be able to assign different materials/maps to each one. if you need to do that, you'd have to mess with the obj in uvmapper. hmmm... this reminds me.... i didn't tell you what options to use to export from poser. turn off 'use figure names,' but leave on 'weld.' turn off 'as morph target.' and i think you need to turn on 'use body part names' and 'use exact internal names.' but NOT use group names. if you are familiar with uvmapper, you should save from poser, then open the obj in uvmapper to see if the groups came out right. sorry i dont know offhand how to make it work exactly. (i did say this was the easiest way?? hooboy!) the other problem would be the joint parameters. if the over sleeves are too big, they might not be encompassed by the joint parameters that bend the arms. you'll notice right away if edges of the big sleeve get stuck behind as you bend things. all you have to do is open the joint parameter X things a little. (i know, joint parameters -- scary! hopefully you wont have to mess with them, but there's a quick and painless tutorial about them on my site, if you need it.) i *think* that's the easiest way. the other way would be to edit the over-sleeve dress cr2 and chop out everything but the sleeves, and use the chopped sleeves as an extra figure. which is the same as hiding the rest of the dress, without the hiding. ;)This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. OK, imagine the following. You have to make a dress which has two sleeves on each side, meaning one goes over the other. You definitely have two models of dresses that would be perfect to be put together. One possibility would be to make all the parts of the "oversleeve-dress" invisible except of the sleeve, but that is not what I want. I would like to "move" the sleeves from one dress to the other without replacing the original sleeves there. a) is there any possibility to do this and still keep a well-fitting dress for posette? b) I do not want to make a prop, I "just" need two sleeves from two different dresses on one and the same dress. What will I need to do this? Edit the *.cr2-file, edit the *.obj? How can I do this? Is it possible, anyway? Please explain slowly as I am blonde :-) Thank you very much in advance, Sabine
