I'm trying to make a new suit in 3d studio (supergirl to be exact). What I want to do is select all the objects of the suit like the arms, chest, abdomen and hips then assign texture coords across all of them as though they are all one shape. This way they are organized and grouped nicely like the p4 female texture is. My problem is, no matter how I group or select the objects, 3ds will only assign UV coords to the last object I pick. Ironically I can hit edit mesh and they edit as though they are all one mesh. Can anyone help with this. My current work around is to use map magic to tile and reorganize the objects but that is a serious pain the the kester.

I'm not a Max user, but I know some experts with it over on the SciFi-Arts Forums that could answer your Max texturing questions real fast.

It sounds like the body parts are separate objects in Max. (IS this Max..or an older 3DS you're using?) I find UV Mapper (or Map Magic) to be very usefull for mapping certain objects and this appears to be one of those cases. You really have to do some trickery or just use Map Magic or UV Mapper to get the mapping simular to Poser figures. I find this proceerure pretty painless other than having to translate and go out to another program. Foxhollow
