Subject: Poser & Bryce integration?

Any hopes that MetaCreations will release a patch to pose and animate inside Bryce in our lifetimes? Or do we have to wait for version 10?

Probably we'll have to wait for version 5 of each product heh heh.. I don't even care about posing..being able to import the .pz3 scene file into Bryce for easy rendering in Bryce's environments would be great. However, the view is I think, that Bryce is an environment modelling program..and not a mesh creation or manipulation program. I suppose we must wait until the target market of bryce changes, or Metacrations recognises the potential of including this option in Bryce, for more sales of both Poser and Bryce.

Meta says that they realize that this is a great idea, but Bryce and poser both have so much legacy code laying around that it was impossible to do in version 4. The hope is for version 5. Remember that Bryce and Poser were developed by completely different companies. Making them work together is a non-trivial problem.

I always thought Bryce was extensible enough to enable plugins to be added to it easily :) Aaaah well. Bryce 4D 2000 I guess :-) Maybe they'll fix the AI logic for conforming clothes to figures in Poser in Poser 2000 as well :)

So, the next question is: when MC plans to release Bryce5? Perhaps I'll need to move to Animatek's WB2. It's a top landscape software that has a plugin to interface MAX. You may fully integrate and render MAX scenes over WB2 landscapes with shadows, reflections, etc. However, the character problem remains - how to animate Poser characters inside MAX? Grey proposes a way out in post 27 at the 3D Animation Forum: "Since Poser 3, you could export Sequenced Meshs for Anims. Any 3D App that supports Morph Targets then becomes Compatable, as you can use the Frame One Mesh as the Base, and the rest of the sequenced Meshes for KeyFramed Morph Targets!" I haven't tried that one yet. Any ideas?
