According to the back case wrap, from the Interactive Making Of... Documentary on Disk 2, you have to "Dig Deeper and link-out to information pods which spotlight: .....Character Morphs. ...2 Face Wraps." I read that as implying an DVD Easter-egg link to a web site that has the extra stuff. No hints that it'll be in any compatible or usable formats. Or just shown as demo sequences imbedded in the several *.mov files or the one HUGE *.mpg file on the second disk. Either way you have to poke around the Documentary to find it. Good Luck.

It's not the actual Texture map rather it's shown within the documentory as the creatures discuss aspects of it. I will give you 2 samll hints... pay close attention when you load the second disc they do give you instructions that you may have skipped past in a rush to get to the goodies. second while veiwing the documentary look for changes on the screen that attract your attention. all this is part of the regular dvd not the dvd rom. Also the thriller video is also hidden. I haven't been able to get disc 2 to play on my mac disc 1 has no problems, but disc 2 keeps getting hung up on data. I was able to dig into disc 2 and find a few mpg about art and such but I can't find the studio tour it's probably at the web site unfortunately I don't have the mac with dvd hooked up to the web. Good luck in finding the face wraps and other goodies. All in all it's a great dvd with great extras and dvd really brings out the beauty and detail of the film even better than the theatre. They grabbed the graphics right from the computer and got rid of all the imperfections you get when transferring to film.

Hmmm, Somebody brought me a pirate DVD back from Thailand a while back. Which in and of itself was failry impressive, since they actually built the DVD by hand! The movie itself was a poor quality copy from a tape, but the build quality was impressive enough, it had subtitles in two languages, a title screen and chapter selection... I guess I'll have to buy the real thing now huh? :) later jb

So I bunked of work for an hour over lunch... Wandered into town, into the first "media" store I could find, ("Saturn" on the "Zeil" in Frankfurt, Germany :) sauntered up to the enquiries desk and asked if they Final Fantasy, "Yeah, no problem, but only in region 1..." Huzzah! released on the 23rd in the USA, available on Frankfurt high street, on the 25th, I love gloabalisation :P later jb

The facial textures for Final Fantasy characters are shown during the Disc 2 Documentary, in the form of pop-up video sequences. I don't particularly remember seeing a facial texture for Aki Ross, but there was a fairly extensive image selection for Dr. Sid (unfortunate, since I would also like to create an Aki character). You might be able to extract these facial textures by grabbing frames from the disc with your PC... I haven't had time to try this. Good luck, C. Keith Campbell

Hi, Have you been able to "play" the second DVD, or is it a view in PC only job? Whenever I try to view the second DVD it tells me I'm in the wrong region, even though my drive and player are region free. later jb

jb, both discs play just fine in my home DVD player. I have a Sony DVP-S530D (which isn't a top-of-the-line player, although I love it), and I have had no problems playing any type of DVD in it. There are, supposedly, some DVD-ROM only contents, but I haven't found the need to add a DVD-ROM to my PC yet. As for your "region" errors, are you certain that the disc itself does not have a different region format? I bought my Final Fantasy DVD at Wal-Mart here in Missouri, and have had absolutely no problems with it. (Other than an out-of-synch glitch between the audio and video from time to time... but all of my DVD discs seem to have this problem from time to time, for some reason. I think the player might need cleaning, heh heh.) After reading this forum, I went back and watched the 2nd disc again. There are facial textures shown for Dr. Sid's face, and the "evil" military guy's leather coat (whatever his name is). When they start talking about Aki, they show various stages of the 3D rendering process (rough and final renders without hair, then various stages of hair). The section about Aki seems to be focused on how they animated her hair, more than anything. Interesting, but still no usable textures (that I could see, anyhow). But my primary interests are vehicles and aircraft modeling, so the "Scale Comparisons Workshop" (showing the Bandit "Hummer", Quattro 4-wheeled rover, and Black Boa) interested me the most. --Clint
