Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 14 4:58 am)
For one thing, about the eyebrows, in the head section for the Vicki model, find the "brows gone" morph and set it to 1.000. I have no idea how to explain all the other problems, as I've already told you all I know, and I can also tell you that I never have these very strange problems you are having. In Poser, alot of timesmaterials will be set to two differebt values: min. and max. Sometimes a material (like all the hair models from Kazaburu) will have a 100% max value and a 0% min value, for transparencies. That works fine for Poser, but in Vue, those materials need to have 100% transparency. Importing as .obj will not transfer the transparency information, and you will have to manually apply all your textures, and trans maps. The Y scale for textures should probably be set to a value of -1.000, and that sounds like what the problem is that you're having with the eye textures. As for the PZ3 import problem, you never mentioned you were using the PPP. That would have been a good thing to mention. There do seem to be problems with using the PPP, though seeminglt not for everyone. As I suggested before, contact E-on support. You should not be having problems like this, and I'm starting to wonder if something in either your Vue or Poser installation might be corrupted. But you told me you have reinstalled both. Have you defraggd the drive these programs are on, lately? I don't know if that would work, but it could. Are you trying to do this with Poser still running? That won't work. Better yet, could you bring this question back to the Vue forum along with a picture, so we can see what's going on, or what's not going on?
Well, just as a warning: Jackson is actually one of about 3 people I am aware of who's Vue 4 actually manages to successfully use a Poser .BUM file. Mine won't and about 90% of the regulars in the Vue forum here and at the Vue Yahoo list have the same problem. Jackson got lucky. ;) However, the .BUM files can be converted to .BMP files, simply by changing the .bum extension to.bmp, and then be applied to anything in Vue. And of course, if you have an original grayscale version of what the .BUM came from, that's even better. But don't let that discourage you...if you buy Vue 4, maybe YOUR .BUM import will work, too. After all, even though the odds are against it, people do win lotteries, too. ;)
LOL! Nope...the last patch was mostly to fix the second-to-last patch, the one which was supposed to fix the way a texture "travels" with an object in object space, though it was acting more like world space. It fixed the problem but created jagged shadows when volumetric lights were on the figure... The latest patch fixed THAT...and now there are no texture issues at all, as far as I can tell, and of course, transparencies are perfect as they've always been. Still no .BUM support though, and it was the first thing I tried. And don't call me Shirley. ;)

I rename poser.exe and vue begin to load, but crashes at 50% What can i do. 4. The biggest problem is the hair, the eyebrowns and the other transparency maps. In Poser they look great.
