Subject: Large render of Evacuation available & An idea for a challenge

Hi all At http://www.aliceunder8.com/refugee.jpg there is a 2400 size render of my Evacuation picture at 480k. We rarely here at Renderosity get to see images rendered that big and I left my computer on 2 days to see how it would look. Some inconsistences in the picture show up at that size (more detail to spot them in) but still, nice to see it hi-res. I've also been thinking of an unusual contest. The Vue Ready In 30 Minutes. A challenge whereby you only have 30 minutes from start to finish (though not counting render time) to create a Vue image. I wonder what we can come up with that quickly? Any takers? best wishes Jody

It takes me that long just to get a thought....but I am sure others are up for it. Sharen

Jody, the Vue gallery here at R'osity will accept images up to 4000x4000/1 MB. So yes, we can have it all! :D Great image, too!

I didn't realise it accepted that high, holy moly that's big.

wow, great image. much easier to view with a smaller dimension though. large resolution is always a fantastic quality image, but viewing it online costs visual impact. I always render very large and resize in corel photo paint. corel has best algorythms for image resizing that I have found. this allows the whole image to be wiewed at once, increasing the visual impact. for sale or production the full size is perfect.

Your picture was incredible when I saw it 'little' size. What to say about the full size version ??? Now, I find your challenge idea really fun... but 'argh !' 30 minutes are really short... :-) That's a really true challenge...

heh-heh...Internet Explorer 6 automatically resizes free-standing (not in a html page) graphics to fit the screen.... I did, however, get a brief look at it before the resizing happened, and I have to say, it looks great at that size! As for the challenge, that's an interesting idea. it would seem best if the participants were all online at the same time, so we could do it in "real time". I'd be up for it. Do you have any suggestions on how it could be arranged?

Hah, no idea Mike, maybe a fixed time in the forum or something, I dunno, I didn't think that far ahead. Best wishes Jody
