Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 06 7:01 am)
I agree. there is a lot of bang for the buck on both accounts. I'd also like to nominate Cal's stuff. Two full cds for only about $35 i think. http://www.wg3d.com/Poser_Propsx.html Also a subscription to PWFW give you about 3 to 4 CDs full of Poser Stuff. I'm not a schill either ;) http://subscriptions.poserworld.com/
I've seen enough of PhilC's & Schlabber's work to know they are excellent artists. I figured their CD's would also be excellent. It is nice to read such a glowing and informative article about each of these offerings. That is the kind of information that helps others realize just how good the merchandise is, and why. Thanks to all of you.

Finally found some time on this fall Autumn Sunday to look at two CD purchases that 'til now were among the unread mail stack. The two titles are PhilC's Tutorial CD and Schlabbers "In The Blink Of An Eye" Pose Compilation. I also want to mention that (lest some think I have a hidden agenda), both were purchased and I know neither of these gentlemen personally.
As advertised, Phil's CD is an over-the-shoulder view of the process he uses to create his fantastic wares. He starts with some basic concepts, then demonstrates the process using his Puritan wife dress as an example. He continues with more examples, all the while explaining the "why" as well as the "how". The lessons are HTML-based; added detail is made available by the use of mouse-overs.
Most of the images can be enlarged simply by clicking on them. All of this material is woven together by links which explain background concepts as well as info on getting the various utilities/programs that Phil uses. VERY WELL done Phil!!

I was also VERY impressed with Schlabber's CD. I expected "just" a compilation of his many poses, and would have been satisifed with just that (versus all my screen captures of the thumbnails which corresponded to my zip file downloads.)
Instead, the CD has a very nice HTML-based front end that covers pose-related material as how to apply poses as well as (in the tutorial section), some of the tips/tricks he uses to create these masterpieces of his! But the best part is the explorer-like tree view of all the poses. One can easily drill-down (based on Poser model and category) to get a preview of all the poses. And above the preview is the CD location of the pose - VERY SWEET!
This wasn't meant to be a professional and/or comprehensive review of these two products. The intent was to strongly suggest you include them in your Poser wish-list; you WON'T be disappointed!!!
