#1. The distance and sky look OK to me. #2. Try the same material as the land but play with the ambience. I would think he would show up quite well with just a slight difference in ambience. I know I did a picture with the same material used on everything and just changed ambience settings on each object. Everything showed up just fine.

This image needs something (alot actually) I'm trying to blend the giant with the background better,a different texture perhaps but with enough enough contrast that you dont miss him totally.havin trouble with the "Distance" effect as well. I know iknow there's too much sky also. everything I've tried seems to either loose him completely, or look like it does here,kinda like he doesnt belong there.
