Morning all, 8^) Just a quick note regarding the final patch "4.03 Partial". I haven't tried too many things as of yet, but most everything that didn't work properly before, now seems to work correctly. One main item, for me anyway, that seems to be working just fine is the "Open GL" screen display. Where as I had to do all my editing in wire frame, now I can use the "Open GL" display. 8^) I have found one peculiarity . . . In the image below I've imported a cube, ( created in Zbrush & exported it as a .OBJ file. ) In the first half of the image, I just gave it a material & rendered it, everything came out great. In the second half of the image, I used a Vue 4 native cylinder to do a "Boolean Difference" on the cube, & as you can see it totally distorted the cube as well as changed the overall size? I hope this is something that can be corrected? I don't believe I've encountered this problem prior to the latest patch. Anyway, you all have a Happy Thanksgiving & be sure you don't eat too much. Heheheh. ;^) Mark.

Hmm...that is a strange one, Mark. If you haven't already done so, please be sure to report your findings to E-on's support. The more they have to work with, the more likely they'll be able to get it corrected. And you have a good turkey day, too! :D

oh yeah, the booleans in Vue 4 are screwed. Steve already knows. BTW, that's about the best looking cube pic I've ever seen. :)

Hey all I just read this and i tried the boolean operation and this is what came out I dont think i got this problem and i installed the patch 4.03 last night dont know whats doing that then ... cheers dolly

Ya the renders I sent Steve made no sence, they where all distorted on the opposite side to the Boolean. It's almost like Vue found a hole in the mesh or it's trying to do impossible math to it. There is no hole because the same meshes worked in 3.1 Remember Booleans work perfect, I tried it every way, even rocks work correctly. It's on imported objects that the Booleans are broken.

Still working with 4.01, it works great so far, so I just don't know if I should install the patches, listening to everyone else, what do you all think. Sharen

Sharen, as long as you're not having any troublesome difficulties with OpenGL, strange lighting on Poser models, or with materials, you may as well hang tight for a bit. But having said that, I'll also say that I see E-on carefully working on these things, and I've been seeing "happier faces" on those using the patches. Some of the beta versions have been spooky, but we need to remember that's why they're called beta. :)
