Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 03 12:46 am)
I've been trying to consolidate my collection today. Unfortunately it looks like I may have mistakenly deleted some crucial files when I thought I was moving them. I learned early on that it is crucial to download and backup anything you think might be important later. So many fine artists have removed or retired their characters or resources, and there is no way to get them after that. Hopefully I can replace the lost items. It would help if I can remember what they were!
Well, all of Geryy's stuff is crucial. I'd say the first thing the newbie need is a concept and a sketch on a piece of paper. From there they can determine the necessary props. Will they need the unitard, leotard, catsuit or paint the costume on? Is there a cape? P4 Fem or Victoria? P4Male or Mike? Hope this helps some.

Thanks for your input. However, I think some of what I'm covering is more concrete. I took a sample of some different 3DCC Poser characters and took note of what is required to go with them according to the web site. Here is the requirement for Powergirl: "You will need Gerry's fantasy boots and gloves, and "strip hair" by Jim Burton, available from Renderosity" 3DCC has nicely included links directly to the source of these items... However some links are bad... Most likely the web sites in question are no longer around or the items were removed. It is this kind of thing I want to help people understand. I suggest putting together a Super Hero Kit, with all these itmes in it.

I'm currently working on my first super hero concept, in response to a blanket challenge to 3D Comic Collective Members. This is not easy for me, and may never be finished. In order to do this project I've had to install many items which are considered necessary for working on Poser super hero figures (Examples are capes, Gerry's boots etc.) I'm thinking of making a tutorial tentatively titled: "So you want to use super heroes?!" The tutorial would talk about where you can get your "premade heroes," where you can get poses, additions, whatever. The tutorial would also tell people about a "toolkit" of itmes that are most likely going to be needed. I'd appreciate your help and input. What items have you found are necessary? Where can you get these items? Many items downloaded from 3DCC actually come from someone else's web site. I'd like to post direct links whenever possible. I know this is old news to many experts out there. I was reminded just how complicated this can be when I wiped my hard drives and started over with Poser. I'm scrambling to put together all the super hero items I'd collected before.
