With a lot of sweat, frustrations, hair pulling I finished my first "real" modelling, - sweater, pants and boots for the P4kids. No, they're not texturized yet. :) But I've managed to get the items into poser and to fit the kid. And uhh... did I have problems. *lol* I made sure that my figure was zeroed before I exported her to Amapi, - and then when I got them back after modelling (and hours of tweaking) they wouldn't fit. EWWWW!... *g* I finally! realized that I hadn't turned off the IK. Ehh.... "sheepish grin* Well, - so this is where I am right now. I'll transmap them in UVmapper. This will be the first time I "group" parts of a mesh into groups. It's still a bit confusing to me. So I might come back with some questions. The thing I wonder about the most, though, is the cr2 file. I have copied the total cr2 file for the poser nude girl. Can I simply use the whole file, - for all the different cloths, - and just edit the filenames and texture maps etc?? OR do I have to try to make a new cr2 file... (ugh.. I sure hope not!) Another question. Are the cr2 files for the nude boy and the nude girl identical? The kids look the same. *lol* But I'm not sure they are. Britt

The cr2s are basically the same except for the hip. The alternate hips are different. You might want to use clothing cr2's instead of the figure cr2. Most people do it that way. As long as your figure has the same body parts as what's listed in the .cr2 file. The only thing you must edit is the pointers so it knows where to find the .obj file. I assume you already know how to do that. But if not, It's in the PoserTechnical forum's FAQ section. ScottA

Thank you, Scott! :) (did I tell you you're the bestest??). I'll do that. I read your last response where I asked about cr2, and you did refer me to the tech faq. If by reading that, - some lightbulbs flare, I think actually I'll purchase the cr2 editor. That seems like a very good tool to me. I've been trying to study those files, - and I do get crosseyed before I reach the first half. I think the problems with the P4kids is that there are very few cloths made for them. I've played with rubio's stuff, - and I'm not sure his figures were zeroed when he made his cloths. I'll mail him and ask, - and cross my fingers and hope that he understands my Norwegian accented English. :) I guess your suggestion about using the clothing cr2 files is because they're probably a lot smaller then the ones for the whole body. No? I swear (silently in old Norse - #%&%&), I'll get it some day! :) Thanks a lot, Scott! Britt

JohnStallings cr2 editor program is free and it's in our freestuff->Utilities area. The reason I suggested clothing cr2s is because conformed cr2s have some extra lines in them. And it's a lot easier to work from an existing cr2 that already works. There is a way to cheat this: Simply export your figure while wearing the clothes (make sure it is zeroed first). Just be sure to un X the body parts of the figure under the clothes so you don't export two of the same items. You can then apply the cr2 from the nude boy. And once you change the pointers to find your new .obj file. It should work just fine. The down side is that the clothes will be a permanent part of the figure. But in a pinch. It isn't a bad alternative. Besides...doing it that way you won't have any problems with skin pokeing through the clothes when you pose it. ScottA
