Subject: Photoshop PSD help?

I'd like to use Fryene's feathers posts in FreeStuff but they are posted as .PSD's. No Photoshop here (I presume that's what they are from). -What is a .psd? -Can I convert or use them with any other paint program? (yessiree, gotta step into the mainstream one 'o these days)

Nance, Yes, .psd is the Photoshop file format. You can also use these files in Paintshop Pro. Don't know about other programs.

PSD is PhotoShop, but PaintShopPro can also read these, not sure about any others...?

Painter will also open and PSD files.

They opened in Corel Paint (duh) Thanks folks.

Gimp can also work with PSD files. It is free and comes with many effects, but the installation and usage is quite challenging. The link goes to an download for the windows version.
