Greetings all, I am tempted to use bad language, that's how upset I am, no really. I have downloaded a lot of cool free stuff, I open said stuff, I put said stuff in proper file, I access stuff, I am told that Poser can't open and furthermore, when I press OK, it says error, error, error, well you get it. I have to Cont. Alt Delete to get out of it, oh the humanity!!! Please tell me how to rectify this, I am unable to open any of the buxom female models I have downloaded, finally some buxom female models, and I can;t open them, Please help before I really do use bad language, God bless you all.

Not sure if this will help, but be sure to get the latest update from Curious Labs... Quite some time ago, I had the same problem.. it helped me :) Cheers, Styxx

Thank you, But I think I have the latest, 4.03 and Pro-pack I didn't see any new ones, I wonder if this might have anything to do with the fact that the stuff I downloaded was, most likely, made for the Meta Creations poser?

Hi Johnny, I have loads of stuff made for MetaCreations poser and I really don't think that makes a difference. What exactly is the message you are getting before your computer locks up? For me, more times than not, it was caused by me not locating the "obj" file in the proper place of the Geometries folder, or calling it something it won't recognize, or the folder name was case sensitive. Hope this helps, but if not, tell us the message error and maybe someone can figure it out. genny

Sometimes figures are saved with textures that aren't included in the zip file. Or the textures aren't put in the same directory they were in when the figure was saved. You have to either find the texture(s) or select different ones. When the error message appears, click on 'yes' then look for the proper textures in your files structure. You will probably have to do this about 20 times before the figure loads. (Depending on the figure) Or it could be an obj file that's missing. Some figures are only useable if you have certain other figures. In that case, you have to get the required figure file and install it into the correct directory.

Another thing that happens, depending on the file, is that the .rsr file is bad. If you delete the .rsr file, sometimes you will then be able to open the file you want to use. Mike

Lost Johnny, Let me clarify: Have you downloaded and installed Service Pack 3 for Poser Pro Pack? If not, get on over to Curious Labs and get it!

steveshanks ( ) posted Sun, 23 December 2001 at 2:48 PM

OK you have Pro pack with the latest updates so its not the RSR thats the problem, i'll presume its not a texture problem so it must be the location of the obj.....open the cr2 or pzr3(further down for a pzr3 scroll till you see it) and at the top you'll see this line figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:Poser4Clothes:Shorts:blwbikshorts.obj now everything after the figureResFile is the path your obj should be in so check that it is in that path and check that if it says blwbikshorts.obj the file isn't called BlwbikShorts.obj....case doesn't matter for folders but it does on the file.......hope this helps..Steve

Plug: Try PInstall at the attached link. It will unzip and and install files where they belong including objs. However, if you don't have the obj file that's needed (ex: vicki or mike) nothing can help except purchasing them from Daz.
