Subject: P4: hidden, older interfaces?

I've seen it posted a few times that there is some sort of keyboard shortcut in P4 which will bring up earlier Poser interfaces. How does this work? I didn't discover Poser until P4, and I'm really curious about the earlier versions.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

The trick is: and be careful, I have gotten stuck in the P2 interface, because I forgot the trick. Press keys P, O,and 2 at the same time. That's an O, not a zero. To get back to what you are used to, pres P O 3. Give it a try and have fun. The P2 interface is similar to their Dabbler program.

heya; i always get stuck in version 2 mode :/ oh well. :) i like version 2 mode for posing figures, because it uses a slightly different paradigm for posing. you click on a body part to select it, then drag anywhere in the window to move it. if you drag along the part axis, it will rotate perpendicular to the screen (in and out) and if you drag across the axis, it will rotate parallel. i find this better than the p3/4 paradigm, because i am always accidentally moving parts when i click on them, (or selecting other parts when i try to move them), and when i do drag the part around to rotate it, it seems to always twist and bend in ways i don't want it to. but for lighting and morphing and everything else, the new interfaces are good.

Posing figures with the P3/P4 dials is much easier than using the cursor tools IME. -JH.

Hi Folks! Thanx for the tip, all! I didn't realize that little trick had been carried over from P3 to P4! I'll start using it again! Peter (Dr Zik)
