Alpha, just thought I'd let you know that I just got my ordered box of Ilford Galerie Classic Pearl and printed my first. WOW!!! They are beautiful. My only complaint--so far---they do curl. However, when I'm sure its dry, I will put it in archival sleeve and it will flatten out. You recommended it--and a pro on another forum who knows I do a lot of B/W recommended it for that (in duotones). Haven't tried that yet---but I'm impressed LOL. Cheers, Diane

From the context this sounds like an ink jet paper? Does your printer (like Epson) have different profile settings? Which do you use?

Mischa, I am using an Epson 875 (and also have a 780 which prints exactly the same, just 'less' build, IMO). I tried the same image with 4 settings--the Epson Colorlife profile, Adobe RGB 1998 color space with the colorspace embedded in image. The paper is 'warm' IMO. I tried my own settings--less magenta, more contrast, glossy film setting, then another with photo paper (Ilford's recommendation) with even less magenta and more yellow, then finally, the best for this image--even LESS magenta, no increase in yellow, a bit of increase for contrast, photopaper. This was just about on the button for this quite colorful image. This setting did not work well for my duotones b/w and I'm trying the Colorlife profile, etc. As I recall, I used this setting for the same quadtone (duotone) silver b/w before on Colorlife paper. The surfaces are almost identical but I understand the Ilford Pearl is more water resistant. Cheers, Diane

Geez oh man. On my side, it didn't even post--I copied my message to add later when the 'osity server was running better LOL. Diane

It really is a terrific program. I used it for years and years--since 3.12 I think. Then I had Corel PHotopaint 9 and now I have 'ta da'!!!!--PS 6.01. Yes, really love the paper. I find it a 'warm' paper, but adjusted accordingly--the prints are super. Cheers, Diane
