THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Newbie help

I keep seeing all of these amazing projects people are doing on Bryce. My question is, can you make tons of great pics with just the textures bryce is giving you? I guess my question is are most people downloading different texture maps and using them for there projects. And on that note can anyone tell me how to take a downloaded texture (ex: rocks) and add it to my material library. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

To import a texture you would click the little > beside the edit tab at top and if you are using Bryce 5 at the bottom is "installed" and a little arrow, click it and select "user" then once there you would select "import" and browse to where you have saved the file. You can use the standard Bryce textures, just might need to tweak them a little in the materials lab. A little warning some people zip their textures and such with Alladin Stuff it expander and you will need to download the unzipper from Alladin. It's just like Win-Zip. Search for tutorials on the web there are many great tuts out there that explain many facets of Bryce. I have several I have linked to from my website as well and some free downloads. www.bromyaur.com

I should have stated the same applies for importing skys, except there is no arrow to select "installed" or "user" and objects that you may have downloaded in "odp" format you click the arrow beside "create and select "user" and import the same way as a material
