I was able to contact the author, who was formerly known as sixpacwolf, and have gotten permission to post the tutorial on my web site. The tutorial itself is brief, but the lens flare samples and props that are included make it a great item to have even for folks who already know how to do this. For those who don't, there is also a pz3 file included with a lens flare set-up and lights so you can look at it and get a better understanding of how it works.

Thanks. We can never have enough tutorials, and it's great to have this one back. Have you considered posting a link in Renderosity's Tutorials section?

shadownet ( ) posted Mon, 14 January 2002 at 10:26 PM

Just posted the link in the tutorial section.

I couldn't find the tute at your site. I checked links and downloads. There didn't seem to be a tutes section. Thanks for digging it out and putting it back up. I saw your earlier post about it and it looks interesting.

It's on page 2 of Downloads, Ajax. Scroll down to the bottom of the page; there's a link for Page 2 just above the Close Window button.

Thanks, Little_Dragon. I would never have spotted that page 2 link on this monitor if you hadn't told me it was there.

Most important the tutoriasl has the correct settings done for you and it has several lens flares I included in the zip and a few fog images. Basicly the tutorial is a pz3 file set up to show you the correct settings to use to allow you to get very very cool effects in poser, the scene opens with a tiny glowing fairy cupped in a giant hand, she has a radient lensflare that makes her appear to glow really really bright like a firefly. I hope guys like it.

Heya Mesh_Magic, The Alien looks out-of-this-world! Let's see if we can find a home for it. I would rather not host it on my site - not because I don't like it, but because I need to be judicial with the amount of space I have available to me. I only have a small site, and originally intended to post only items I created there. Your lens flare tutorial is just too great a resourse to not have posted somewhere, so I volunteered. Now let's see if we can find someone to volunteer to give you wonderful Alien a nice home. Hope that you understand my reasons. Hi Ajax, Sorry that you had difficulty. I am still working on getting my web site running like I want it. Glad someone was kind enough to help you out. I also put a direct link to the file in the Tutorial Section here at Renderosity. If I had been thinking at the time, I would have done the same in this post. That has been corrected. I will probably also post this to Free Stuff, if adding it to the tutorial section did not already put it there - I hadn't checked yet so I don't know. To all, I am glad I was able to help. Rob

The tutorial is great, and the flares that come ready made are also, and boy can you have fun with that fog. Thanks again.
