So, the orb is mapped correctly, I think! :) Thank you guys for leading me in the right direction. I'll re-map the crown and the septher (the crown NEEDS it, - the septher seems to not "take" the reflection map at all, - so I'll have to look into that) Next on my Elizabetean journy is her coronation dress. The skirt is done, - and I'm fighting the top of the dress.... Posettes boobies and the "right" look don't go along, - so I'm afraid I'll just have to turn the lady's boobeis off. *grin* BUT, the coronation train. How is that best modelled AND posed. From the looks of it, - it seems that the train should go from the shoulders and let's say Hmm... maybe at LEAST 5 feet - ending in an oval. I'd like to make it posable, - so that she'll be able to SIT with the train wrapped around her, - and the ends of it neatly curled on the floor around the chair. AND I'd like to pose her walking, - with her ladies in waiting holding and helping with the long train. Hmm... so... How do I do that. I suppose I'll have to model it, - then model morph targets??? This looks great. The jewels are gorgeous and despite your complaints I think the reflection map looks quite good. To add a bit of realism to the gold, I would suggest using a bump map with a very fine grainy texture.

Oh yes.. as for the train modelling. I am not a modeller, but your problem reminds me of a cloak (again, at Poser World) that has dials for different positions--arms folded, back over shoulders, etc. Maybe you could do it like that, only your morphs would be Held, Seated, etc.

Hmm... I hadn't even thought of that. But that's a good idea! I'll respond to you in the morning, you have a lot of good ideas, - and I have something I'd like to show you too! ;) The train does represent a problem, I think (maybe it's just my tired brain!!), because it reaches from the figures neck till the toes. And it should be able to "wrap around" the body, - so there should be even "hands" in there???? Am I thinking too complicated? (I wouldn't be surprised! lol) I just can't quite grasp how I should group that thing! AND what should be the zero figure for it??? "hanging straight down" or "laying on the floor". OK... I think my brain tells me it's time to get some shut eye... (now if I can be able to not think "mapping" lol) Britt

You might want to have the train as a separate parented posable ffigure, with left/right/center sections so it can be spread and segments to make it fall more naturally. Than many morph targets. As far as the chest problems - you'll need to 'corset' posette to the correct sillhouette - remember the idea of the day was no breasts. Queen E herself was flatchested. Elesabethan corests are really binding. (painful personal experiance) The orb looks great - nice jewels :) Lyrra

If you're doing this with historical accuracy, the train would actually start from the waist (easier to pull that way). This would then be covered with a second cape from the neck to just below the waist to create the illusion of one large piece.

I believe that "knittingman" (Gerald Day) has the "breast reduction cream" (look in freestuff). That ought to help get a smoother silhouette. Serge Marck has a dress with a train which will wrap around the feet. His site is "poserfashion". You may wish to download the dress because a) it is beautiful, and b) it might help solve your train problem. Carolly
