Never mind the obvious technical flaws--it's at about 30-40%. However, I think a B-1 or B-2 in the background would be nice touch. What I'm looking for is a hi-res model...preferrably free. I attempted to do a transmapped pic of one on a transparent square but it looks sorta out of place and the images I've found are pretty dirty. I still haven't settled on the sky background. I also may put in a helmet and Dad standing behind. What do you think? I'm also having trouble with the title. I'm trying to depict the sacrifice military folks endure and excentuate that women--including moms--are "called to duty" too. If you have any ideas for a suitable title, throw that my way too. TIA

3D Cafe has both a B1 bomber and a B2 stealth bomber in .3ds format in its Aircraft section.

The B1 isn't bad, and the B2 is very high-res. Although the B2 has some reversed normals (it looks weird in the document window), it appears perfectly fine when rendered.

I like the pose, its touching. Id change the camera angle, though. The kid now block s moms face, rotate the came to show more of her grief. No need th show more of the kids face, the hand says it all... Maxx :-)

I keep coming back to this post. The figures in this image are extremely compelling. What about a very faint (ghosted, almost) daddy-in-combat-gear in the background to give a sense of distance and loss?

The image is supposed to reflect that Mom is leaving for combat (she's wearing the bomber jacket and flight suit). Reason? The public often gets to see the reunions, but the grief of departures are generally not depicted in public. Furthermore, the public probably gets a good idea that dads and sons go off to war but moms do too. I also wanted to depict that women in the military are also given responsible positions (here she's a pilot).
