No, all I did was use four levels of color (dark red, medium dark red, orangey red, and light orange) in successively smaller brush sizes, then "cleaned up" the outermost edges with the eraser tool, then gave it about a 5 pixel Gaussian Blur, on top of a black background. BAM! Texture. Then I desaturated it, and increased the contrast slightly to add a bit more "depth" to the flames (not quite as translucent), for use as a transmap. And, actually, the flames on the neck are part of the actual neck geometry. Since it spand the Head, Upper neck, Lower Neck, and top of the chest, it pretty much had to be to flow right. And, yes, there will be morphs to control the size and direction of each of the flames, as well as expression morphs. I did the lower jaw as a separate body part to reduce the number of morph targets needed, as well as add a small bit of realism to the working of the jaw action.
