Subject: Shorts & Boots ??

Does anyone know how to model or create Fur Shorts & boots (Animal Fur), like Arnold wore in Conan the Barbarian ??? I tried to simply do it as a texture with bumpmap, but it doesn't look too good. If you have seen anything that can be modified that would work, please let me know. Dwmdesigner

I don't know if this is of any help but I created a fur loin cloth using Vickys skirt. I used a bear fur texture and created the bump map for it by grey scaling the bear fur and playing with contrast and brightness and the light direction in PS Pro. I also created a transparency map in PS Pro as well. I made a jagged edge along the bottom of my loin cloth in a shape that would be long in the front and back and short on the sides. I used a layer and the fur pluggin (part of eyecandy) and went along my bottom edge and turned it to a grey scale layer and droped it on my transpaerncy map. This gave the appearance of hairs on my jagged edge. Here's a small picture of the results. It's not perfect but I think it looks okay.
