I don't get it way don't they simply go public with this information. I don't mind weighting. I do mind weighting for something I don't even know I want to weight for.
What ever happed with the great suggestion of bringing Mr. A. Clipper to the Spot Light. Maybe we could get some confirmation on this and the bones issue that seems to be troubling more than one Carrara user. If this is true than I am very excited just to have Carrara running under OS X, put the bones issue is still a big priority.
Bones: "Jim, I'm a doctor not a brick-layer!" or "He's dead Jim!" or "Jim, I'm a doctor not a lawyer!" The bones issue predominates discussions on the what's up for Carrara 2 - how about better rendering/modeling/stability! But - I think I remember Eovia guy saying something about a "suprise" in the rendering department - can it be radiosity? can it be photon mapping? Who the hell knows -- Eovia - how about a little less mystery and a little more customer appreication --- see e.g. Throw me a bone! thread.
Antoine has said that there will be bones. As for Poser, I don't know about you but, if I have bones, I would not have any use for Poser. The amount of headache importing a poser model and animating it in a different is not my cup of tea. I would much rather see some awesome character animation directly in Carrara, not some side program that in my opinion doesn't do such a good job. As for waiting, I like it. It causes me to speculate and think about the kind of things that I can do with the software I have right now.
Poser is unsurpased at simulating the human form with a full range of facial expressions. To me even with bones, it would be truly tedious to have to use deformers to get facial expressions in Carrara. I noticed the newest version of True Space has tools for making figures able to talk, if Carrara two had similar tools it would make life easier.

This is the google translation for a question asked to Eovia on the Spanish language site Macquarium: Eovia: Of course, the applications of Eovia will support of native form MacOS X! When? that already is a problem of calendar of development with respect to our following versions of Amapi 3D (v.7) and Carrara Studio (v.2). Amapi 3D v.7 will be sent in October of the 2002 (supporting Mac OS X) and Carrara Studio v.2 will do the same in June of the 2002.
