Hi All,

You have to go to RDNA and grab the free Infinity Cove! They've also got some awesome stuff on sale :) The image above is a straight Poser render using the cove and one of my digital images. Check out the deer's shadow, and imagine the posibilties of what you can achieve....

This reminds me a lot of the backdrop tool that Nerd3D has for sale, another copyright debate looms on the horizon

That's awesome! And it's free? Wonders never cease around, especially around this place, do they? Thank you, RDNA folks!

Looks great Spectre3 ! I really must admit that I find RDNA to be one of the more exciting Poser-places. Really a lot of amazing stuff around...something like a new way of using / thinking Poser.

another copyright debate looms Probably. I mean, its not that difficult a prop to create, and Nerd has said as much. Im no modeller, but I made one myself in about half an hour one night, and it probably could have been done in less time than that if Id thought a little more about what I was doing.

Thanks Syyd ;)

Can you copyright the idea? I mean, if I came out with a long braid and bun hair prop for free, but was a completely original mesh, would I be violating Mehndi's copyright?

Bloodsong released one back in April last year in the freestuff that I've been using ever since....it uses the ground prop for the backdrop....I don't think there should be any copyright issues with this one. I read somewhere that Syyd's been using this for the longest time, way before the Nerd backdrop tool came out...anyways off to grab it now. Thank you Syyd...

Ron, The image above is a digital photo from my digital camera. It is being used as the texture map for the infinity cove prop. Just like you would use an image for Victoria's body or whatever else you want to map. The deer is a Poser character standing in front of the infinity cove prop. As you can see, the Poser lights are casting the deer's shadows onto the cove prop. Similar to when the shadows are cast on the Poser ground plane prop. You could use any photo, art, color, a picture of your own backyard, whatever, and your Poser character would look as though they were standing in the picture, casting shadows, without looking as though they were just pasted in. Hope that helps :)

The background image size is adjustable by the usual XYZ coords, size and rotation. The digital image above is originally 2048 X 2048. Spectre

Just an aside...that's a really great photo spectre! You get some good results with your digital :)

I bought Nerd's backdrop prop some time ago, and this looks just like it. I think I saw another like it somewhere else, too. I guess this is an idea that several people have had. Melanie

Thanks Scifi, it's an Olympus C-3000 3.3 MegaPixel. You should see what it does on Macro. Very awesome closeups :) BTW, that's part of a local nature walk trail... Scenery like this, and the area's pure white sandy beachs with emerald green clear water makes me glad this is home :) Spectre

Go to Yahoo.....try typing in a search query for Infinity Cove..... I am sure will be suprised at your search results. The concept has been around for a very long time. Personally, I want to thank RDNA for creating one and giving it to us for FREE. Thanks Colm, Jim and Syyd :D

kieraw sez: "Can you copyright the idea?" 1. You CANNOT copyright an idea, but you can patent a technique. 2. Real life applications for this technique have been around for years. Using a curved fabric background creates depth when coupled with chromakey (bluescreen), or obscures depth when used to photograph models with a white background.

That really is an awesome photo. And you did well with the deer. People not in the know would probably think that was real :) The only thing that shows it isn't is the lack of deer reflection in the water.
