Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 7:34 pm)
Yeah, that's where it's all at, in the material editor, with the icon at the top center which looks like three little balls. Every individual texture can be edited in there. Vue's material editor is pretty straightforward, but you'll still have lots of questions, so go ahead and ask. :) As for the .bum files....well, they work for some, and not for others. That's all I know about that...might want to try the 4.05 BETA patch a few threads below, posted by e-on, but I wouldn't recommend it... Welcome! Mike PS Yeah, the manual's pretty sketchy. In some cases it's just outright wrong.
Thanks, this is something i may have looked after for some time :) I was also able to manually assign the bump maps (well i used the .jpg files). The only strange thing is that i remembered seeing everywhere that all maps had to be scaled Y=-1 but the bump maps i imported were correct with default Y=1... !?

Hello. I am playing around for the moment (i hope to post some pics sometimes :P ) and i tried to import a textured vic2 (from poser 4.03, with bump and trans) in vue 4.03. I have some question for experienced people: 1) Vue told me he couldn't read the .bum files... how am i supposed to get bump maps into vue? (or is there a problem with my bump maps?, they work in poser) 2) I am unclear with the possibilities to change texture, reflections etc... in vue for my poser model. It seems that everything must be set prior to import it in vue!? For example, if i want to edit the head part of the model, vue 4 tells me that several different material settings are found in head and i will screw up if i try to edit... I understand that for example different part of the head have different texture, like trans map for eyelashes etc... but i have trouble understanding how much of the settings made in poser are actually contained in here!? Sorry to bother with this but the manual in vue doesn't say much about importing from poser :) Pinky
