Subject: Pink Pony?

What's with the pink pony all of a sudden? I've run into references to it all thru the forum. Is it some new figure I haven't seen or an old one, redone? I visit here almost daily, and I still don't have a clue about it. Just wondering...

We NEVER mention the Pink Pony around here! (Try doing a search on "Pink Pony" in the Poser gallery, though) ;-)

ok I know about the pink pony gallery what I want to know is why the subject is taboo? is because of the top 20 thing?

ScottA ( ) posted Fri, 08 February 2002 at 11:39 AM

The subject is not "Taboo". I think Jim was just joking. ScottA

Hi, The Magic Pink Pony (MPP) is the product of legenday loon Legume, who went all "pink and fluffy" after his "dark and gritty" stuff was deleted by the admins. For reasons unknown, many people, (some fraudulently) then voted said "pink and fluffy" images to the top of the hot20 both as some sort of protest at all the "Naked vicky with sword and helmet in temple" pictures that used to predominate, and to highlight/protest that Legume's stuff, which while offensive, didn't actually violate the TOS as it stood at that point. For a while it was funny :) This deeply annoyed some people who took the hot20 voting thing seriously. One of those people was Sinister, who left, then came back. Most of this was recorded in threads in the Legenday C&D forum, where many people got very annoyed at the whole "pink and fluffy" mess. Many people laughed, many others got thier feelings hurt. Some got thier noses out of joint, some pointed at said noses and laughed. Other people said uncomplimentary things about the way people looked when they laughed, furious IM's were sent, trademark insults flew, threats were made, but still people laughed. Then the admins closed the C&D forum, one set of people stopped laughing, another lot said "and about time too" the laughter continues. Good 'ere init! :) later jb

Boy that poor pink pony catches hell at every turn LOL just got a giggle :)

I think the whole thing was a riot, beginning to end. Legume creates this thing, and the oh-so-serious-Poser people get all bent out of shape because a bunch of us networked and got it into the Hot 20. There were these absurd claims of "conspiracy" and "rigging the Hot 20" that were just as silly as the complaintants themselves. Some of these "I'm such an artist and youre not" clowns stomped off, only to return when they realized how much they need Renderosity -- and meanwhile the Good Doctor has moved on to his much funnier "Mr. Fluffers" series ("Mr Fluffers Finds a New Friend" is a riot; go do a search for it.). O tempus o mores
