Subject: How do I make a materials map that is different than the body parts breakdown?

Like in the Latex WWG. How do I make a materials map that allows me to have several usematerial sections on a single body part or one across parts of multiple body parts? Is there a clear and easy to understand tutorial on this out there? Thank you.
