I've been working on this animation of the dork paddling a kayak. It's the kayak from free stuff. I want to take the animation into World Builder, if I ever get the paddling sequence to where I like it. I need some other opinions.. good, bad, in different, I don't care. The animation is in Divx 4.12 format 156k, 55 frames @ 12fps. Thanks Ed

Hmm. There's something about it my QuickTime doesn't like. Any ideas?

Sorry, I didn't even think when I put the original up. If you're on a Mac you can't see the Divx version. Here's a QuickTime version for those of you. Ed

It looks very nice. You should trim it so that it 'loops' seamlessly. Nice animation for such a small filesize.

A Mac version of the DivX codec (decoder only) is now available at DivX.com.

It looks pretty good, but the movement seems too abrupt, too stiff. And the head should remain facing forward, rather than turning with the body.

Good start EDW the motion could use some smoothing

I am very curious though
I have pretty much mastered the Graph Editor

But I would like to know how you are keeping both his hands so firmly on the paddle as it moves

if you dont want to go into it here
feel free to email me any long winded detailed technical info you may want to share at : anobrin@mac.com

Thanks

Yep, looks great, but as welcomesite says, you just need to get the loop sequence down for a smooth playing movie. And slow down the frame rate some. Poor guy's gonna get exhausted at that rate. ;-) jon

Thanks for the feedback.. This is my latest version..and the last for tonight. I had the frame rate messed up thought I had it set at 12, but when I really looked it was at 30.. No wonder the poor dork looked like a helicopter. I also trimmed it so it can be looped. wolf the answer to your question... I parented it to a body part... Now you have guess which one. If you look real close you can figure it out. If you can't, I'll tell you tomorrow. Ed

FWIW the current DivX codec for Mac reads the .AVI just fine. I didn't have to do anything to see it nice and clear in IE5.
