I can't open the cr2 and rsr files I download. I have Poser 3 and 4 but it doesn't recognize these files even if I put them in runtime/libraries/characters/newfolder.
What's the matter?

Where did you get the files? Are they Mac or PC format?

I think this is the problem. I work on Mac and I think the files are on PC format. I thought about this last night and I'm gonna try with a specific Mac file. If it's not the case I will come back for new ideas. Thanks Jeff.

Ah okay, you need Maconverter for these files.

I don't get it right, I think ! ? ...I thought MAC files had special extensions, like *.sit and *.bin, and so on.. _How couldn't you see what the extensions are when you unzipped what you downloaded with Winzip, Power Archiver or Winrar ? It is simple to verify if or not these files were MAC or PC am I wrong or am I not getting it ? Or either maybe MAC has *. cr2 and *.rsr extensions too ? Anyway I understand that you're right, there are really some problems with downloading files for Poser...and put them in the right folders is a kind of hassle, had this problem too.. I think we almost all want to skip to read tutorials or even learn more even about PC and MAC compatibilities and features...just because maybe we read and learn, because sometimes it's so boring (how many millions tutorials for PhotoShop ?!!! It's impossible ! If you don't skip some things, then you have no time left to DO your art, right ? Because it slows your art-production...I totally am like that too... And there are at the same time benefits and discumforts to act like this.(Not to "read the books": It's a choicE that has advantages and disadvantages. I don't always like it, I often make some mistakes, but even though I will go on missing some skills for a better knowledge a better technic too, but too much "training & learning" and not "doing" art, well, that is too much and not enough... I just say: "Arting" 's better than "reading". _You though can always see the files-extensions with ANY archiver when you have to extract compressed files with any archive extractor... _Don't panic, the use of Poser isn't that so easy learning, Man...D' you think everybody got it all ? They wouldn't be doing almost only these millions "would-be erotic" Barbie puppets with no expression, if it was easy, he he... Good luck and good courage ! Alfie (liftan for Renderosity)

Hi Alfie, thanks for your reply. I agree with you about the tutorials, often boring and not as easy to understand if you see what I mean. I'm fench and the tutorials are often in english, and I'm not specialist in technical words. So I'm happy to see that some people like you take a few time to send a so long reply to me, instead of creating. I want to use Poser a bit to quickly, and I think I'm gonna take the time necessary to understand its basic fonctions. It's so exciting to dicover a new program, I wanted to use it as soon as possible. I will try to find the key of the mystery of the invisible props and I will come back. Thank you again.
