Hey all :)

OK... so it looks like the hmann hair rocks. Cleopatra is a good package that looks nice for example though I must say I never got Total Hair to do what I really wanted.

Now there is Gypsy hair and to be honest it looks a lot (to me) like the other two.

Can someone who has them all (or a subset) compare them for me? Is Gypsy goign to give me all that much more? It's not that I doubt it is worth the money on it's own - but do I need all three?

Thanks!

I have the Cleopatra and the Gypsy hair and I like both. The Gypsy hair is somewhat more powerful. It has many different transmaps for the same mesh (from straight to messy). The 150 morphs are quite daunting at first, but with time one can master them. I you buy only one the Gypsy hair is the one to go.

I only have Gypsy hair also, and my only complaint is that there are no dark hair colors. I'm not dissatisfied with the hair itself, it truely makes characters look alive. So go look at the ad, and if you can live with the 2 colors go for it. I'm considering the Cleo hair for this reason, but it kinda burns me.

I wish I could collect my thoughts BEFORE I post! Another thing, and it may just be my system. But the bangs are not exactly the same color as the body of the hair, I've tried adjusting everything (in Poser and in Lightwave) but there is still a difference (Gypsy hair) I haven't emailed hmann yet as I still want to play with it (maybe its me)

Darker hair colors shouldn't be too hard to do. Run it through Photoshop and it should come out okay. I haven't had much time to play with the Gypsy hair, but I do like it. I always tweak the wisps so they don't jut up quite so much (it looks fake to me at the default setting) but otherwise I like the hair a lot. Some day, in my copious free time, I'm going to put some MAT files together just for changing hair colors for the Gypsy hair. Most of the MATs are actually for creating a style and changing the hair color at the same time. I'd prefer a set only for hair color and a set only for hair styles. The Gypsy hair is worth the price. Some day, I may get the Cleo hair as well.

Yes there seems to be a discreptancy between the bangs and the top wisps of hair, I don't think it is your system, the bangs seem to have more of a wine hue while the top is a little more orange. Great hair though, stands up well to close ups.

I wanted the Gypsy hair, but that looked too daunting for me since I'd never bought hair or worked with it before. So, I bought the cleo hair. It takes time to work and tweek at it and all the morphing dials are daunting, but so far I have liked the results I've gotten. I'm also very happy that the hair works with both Victoria and Posette. I suggest, if you've never worked with any hair before, start just with one, then once you have the one mastered, extend your collection.

After looking at it all again I think I might avoid the "all in one morph" hair concept. Maybe I'll go with multiple purchases of specific hairstyles... but that seems like a real PITA :) Ah well. I'll go with Gypsy and give it one more spin with the "big" hairs and probably stop using the total hair setup. Use my time getting gypsy to do the right thing and then get a handle on Cleo.
