Greetings from England,

Has anybody bought and used Anton Kisiel FX figures in VUE packages.

I love the effects but need to know it works in VUE4 before I go ahead and purchase the package.

Best wishes all,

Steve.

I do have some of his effects and no they do not work the same way in Poser, what happens is you do get the object, but no material attached, like the sparkles. Sharen

Hmm... Sharen, I just tried it and all the material did import. The strange thing is they didn't render in color; they rendered in greyscale. If you hit F6, you'll find the materials are there and in color. Problem is you'd have to figure out which setting(s) needed adjusted, then edit each material. Weird. I've never seen this happen with any other Poser item.

Jackson, you are right, that is what I meant to say that they are greyscale. I contacted Anton after this happened and he told me this is what would happen. He was very honest about how it really only works with the sparkles in Poser as a render. I tried to add materials to each one, but it took too long for me. Maybe someday, Sharen

Okay, I think I got it figured. This is a straight import from Poser to Vue. Although the material assigned to the hair sparkles was the same as the ball and tail sparkles, they (the hair sparkles) had a color assigned. (Yet they still rendered grey.) The ball and tail sparkles were grey in the material editor. So, to get the hair sparkles to render in color, all I had to do was adjust the Ambient and Luminous sliders in the material editor. To get the ball and tail sparkles, I had to assign a color to the three materials then adjust the Ambient and Luminous sliders. This is the result--rendered with shadows off to avoid confusion. NOTE: In Poser, the only object that had a texture was the hair. The sparkles had only a transmap and ambient colors assigned. Strange.

Okay, are you adjusting the ambient and luminus sliders in the Vue material editor? Sharen

Yup. I didn't adjust anything in Poser; I just brought the items into a scene and saved the pz3. Then imported into Vue.

Jackson, this is so cool, I am glad you fooled around with it, now time for me to give it a try. Sharen
