Someone expressed an interest in seeing some of these once I got started. The columns need a little work to be detailed traditionally (addition of lilies and pomegranates). There will be approximately 150 images when the project is finished. Columns by Thorneworks (great prop!) Roman Gate by frits Castle Wall by Malligar Arms - Michael 2 Everything else is original. Modeled in P4, rendered in B5.

You know, it just occurred to me after posting the above that you can't see a lot of the other "original" props in that shot! Oh, well. Maybe tomorrow.

I really like the idea of using a super-modern craft method to illustrate and instruct the oldest craft guild! One little thing: try adjusting the thumb on the hand holding the plate. It doesn't appear to be making contact.

Thanks. I noticed that too. It actually is, but I turned off shadows one the nearest light for this rendering because it was making a weird shadow on the plate. Unfortunately that meant giving up the shadow of the thumb, too. Ah, well, WIP! Thanks again. "Freemasonry: Making Good Men Better for Over 600 Years."

I have read alot about the masons. Have some friends that are members as well. In your series will you be depicting the secrets such as initiation and such?

Of course not, I'm a Mason! There are very few secrets anyway. Mostly just the "modes of recognition": words and handshakes and what-not. The only real reason for the secrecy is so that the ceremonies (which simply teach lessons in moral virtues) maintain their impact. There's a brief explanation of this image in my gallery. Check out the FAQ at my Lodge's website (of which I'm the webmaster) at the link above (www.Doric92.org).
