i have a general question, how do i make transparency maps. Also how can i easily scale everything in UV Mapper, i wanna start making textures and all the maps for some good custom characters.

transparencies are just greyscale .jpgs. black = clear, white = appears, grey = see-through. to easily scale areas in UVmapper, highlight the part you want to scale, when you do this a box will show up around the area with little boxes in the corners, grab one of the little boxes & pull it to where you want.

Also in UV Mapper...Check out the shortcuts in the About pulldown in the menu. There are shortcuts for doubling and shrinking the size, without distorting the shape. *, /, -, +, to name a few.

every time i get done scaleing everything and save a create my texture map and color it and than load it up into poser to apply it it comes up looking all weird, the head wont be on the head and you can see the other parts over the face. why does this happen, do i need to apply all the other parts to eliminate this problem?

make sure you don't have "apply to all" checked. If you do it will chanfe the texture to all materials evertime you load a map
