Subject: Poserworld Downloads?

Is anyone having troubles with poserworld downloads? When winzip opens the download there is nothing in the file. I still can't select where I want to save the downloaded file! I can't find winzip archive. I did fine stuffit, but no winzip. Why did I upgrade to IE6...-(

You need to get hold of them and let them know what is happening. I haven't been there in a few days, not since the last update, so I can't say yes or no on the trouble thing. Never had problems before though. Marque

I've downloaded a few today with no problems on ie5 and a 33.6 connection....Rena finishes usually the files so i often download much later :o)......we did have the same problem with one other member but it turns out that after he did something with his connection (it was cable) the problem went away, we where never sure if it was coincindence though....maybe try the right click and dload?....Steve

I know it was acting a little cranky yesterday, but it seemed to have downloaded okay today.

I had the same problem. Did a "save as" with the right click and everything was there. Was pretty weird.

yep me too, I also downloaded with "save target as".

This has happened to me as well. Watch for the file size during download. If the file is, say 1.5 meg and the download says something considerably less, re-download.

This is my ping result Ron is this good or bad?..its from the uk BTW ....Steve

Hey Steve, your ping looks good, as long as there is no packet loss. Problem is probably on their end at certain times when you are trying. If you can ping them then from you to them is ok, but if still a problem, it could be one of their servers. Not sure of their network setup, but that IP could just be a gateway. And umm, never pinged anyone in 2 years of Internet Tech support? Wow Ping is lesson one any any networking environment. Must have been a MS-loving place.

Oh i know Ron thats why i asked :o) thought i'd ask a guy who knew rather than presume i had any idea what it meant :o)....thanks, Steve

Guess I made the wrong assumption with internet connectivity......I'm sure a DNS server, which could be pinged to see if alive, could cause problems with an internet connection; no DNS, no doing much of anything internet-related unless you got a pocket full o' IP addresses for each site you go to. I'll just shut up and go back to pinging some machines on the Unix network that I administer.

To return to the topic at hand, Steve, it looks like whatever the problem was has been solved for the moment. I d/l'd with no problem just a short while ago. Thanks so much.

Site Admin Online Now!

A bit delayed input ..but helpful I guess as to the weirdness of routers and how much they make a difference! For the last 5 days logging through my usual ISP won't open up ANY page located in US (including PW, Renderosity AND yahoo)... all the rest work just fine! Using my other ISP (alternative ememrgency solution I keep handy) everything opens up with no problem at all.. now go figure! :o) BUT... I have noticed at the office where I upgraded to IE6 that some weird things are happening ever since so I'm definately not upgrading at hoome till all those bugs are fixed! :o) Rena
