Subject: Virtual Memory problem

Alright, here's the deal: When I render this one complex image (although I'm assuming this would happen with any image), Vue fails once it is using 1.92GB of Virtual Memory. This is not to say that Windows runs out - I have over 6GB in VM. However, no matter what render options I chose, as soon as it gets to 1.92GB VM, Vue gives me this "Out of Memory" error, and fails. What's going on?

Thanks a lot!

Aaron

Happens every time? I've only ever had that out of memory thing happen once, and it seemed strange because it wasn't that complex of a scene, and I had 3 or so GB in VM. I would write E-on support about that one. It might be some sort of limit, although I doubt it would be intentional on their part to set such a low limit.

Yeah, every time. Alright. Thanks, Mike! Aaron

Aaron, There are many "memories". Have a look in Windows folder and execute Rsrcmtr.exe. This will put an icon in your (what's the name of it?) bar at right bottom of your screen. Have a look at it while working with Vue. This shows you the volumetric ressources of your computer. All of them should never go below 40%. If they do, try to shotdown most of your residential programs. If this doesn't work, write to e-on. And close as soon as possible Rsrcmtr.exe, because it also uses memory. Guitta

Guitta,

I've been using the Windows Task Manager, which tells me Physical, Virtual, and Kernel memory status, as well as Processor usage. Really, the problem is not at all that I run out of memory in any case, it's just that Vue seems to have a limit. Thank you very much for your suggestions, though! I've sent an e-mail to E-on, so, when they eventually decide to get to it, I should get some sort of response! ;)

Thanks again!

Aaron
