I have searched and searched...I have even searched for things my dumbass can modify to fit these needs...I have found...NADA! I am working on a series of "Dune" inspired images (in conjunction with my husband's tireless work on a Dune handbook and reference bible)...and I **don't** need more clothes for Victoria. I need something like the following images for **Mike**. (The Dune movies are awful and unending horrors to me...but at least these uniforms look mostly correct.) I don't need textures...I can make those up myself. I need the models...since I couldn't model my way out of a paper bag. (A friend is encouraging me to try Rhino....but I ain't that patient or confident in my ability to learn it....and I need these now!!)

I just need the uniform jacket. I tried using various turtlenecks for Mike...and they don't work...they all have the folds of the turtleneck in the mesh itself...making my attempts at texturing come out looking awful. Help?? Pretty please? I'll love you forever!

You already love me forever... too bad my modeling skills aren't up to this level... :)

LOL! Ya...I do lave ya forever already! ;o) I'm gonna try PhilC like you suggested. Wish me luck.

Phil is an awesome modeller. I hope he does some stuff like this. It wold be awesome. Did you talk to Colm? I know he's mega busy but you never know s I LOVE Patrick Stewart

nikitacreed ( ) posted Thu, 07 March 2002 at 7:08 PM

Nahhh....I already bugged Colm about a stillsuit. I suppose I should tell him that I have Davo's Shard Suits now...I didn't even know about Davo's suits when I asked him for it. LOL! Ahhh...screw it...I will ask him anyway....but I realy want a male version of the new Gothic Armor to use for Harkonnen Men. ;o) Do you have any idea what I am talking about Xena? ROFL!

Xena ( ) posted Thu, 07 March 2002 at 7:13 PM

Well you know what you are talking about :P snicker Davo's shard suit looks great in that image of yours btw.

nikitacreed ( ) posted Thu, 07 March 2002 at 7:34 PM

LOL! Thank ya! I do on rare occasions have moments of lucidity where I actually do know what I am talking about. Not often...but once and awhile. ;o) Thanks for the comment on my image. I meant to send you an IM and say that...but I wasn't having one of those lucid moments. ;o)

One of the Japanese sites has a Japanese School Boy's uniform which is based on the same pattern. Adding epaulets is a relatively easy thing to do.

Nikitacreed, Here's a quick pic of a jacket I'm working on based on the pic's you posted. If it seem to work for you maybe we can work a deal out on texturing, something I just can''t seem to get the hang of. If you interested let me know, I hope to run a proto-type through UVMapper in the next couple of days. mike

It looks great so far!!! Ohhh...thank you for working on it!! Is it for Mike? It must be for Mike for me to be able to use it in my project. LOL! =OD

Here's where it's at for today. Tomorrow I'll move it into UVMapper amd start setting it up for Poser. That's the hardest part, I hope I can get it to move without "breaking" too much. I intend to make the belt a seperate object later. I think after this I'll move this thread to the Poser Forum, since I'll probably be begging the clothing Guru for help before long! ;^) mike
