Does anyone here know how to get transparency maps working correctly in Carrara... I have had a devil of a time.. and nothing seems to work.. tried a negitive image of a poser transmap too.. and a image that I finished. this is the Bryce version of it, Carrara renders much better :) http://darrinsden.com/gallery/graphics/bikereflect.jpg

Hi, I had the same issues with the transparency but figured out the problem. In RD5.5 I was used to assigning a color to the object + transparency. In Carrara, there cannot be a color assigned to the material. Color is acheived through using color shaders in the highlights and shinniness channels. Hope it helps. Mark
