There's been several posts the last few days that don't make sense. (Hold on, let me finish before you start laughing.) It seems like they are responding to posts that are gone, but there's no [deleted] posts showing. Has anyone deleted some posts so that all traces of the original post (though obviously not the responses to the post) are gone? Normally, if the poster deletes their post, there's at least a notice that they had posted something. From the responses to the apparently missing messages, it seems like the missing posts were against the TOS. Is there a new policy that major TOS-breakers are totally hidden, instead of just the contents themselves? Check out the OT forum as a good example of this. (This example is NOT to flame anyone or take sides, it's just the first example I could find of the sudden twists in posts. RadArt suddenly gets mad at Davo for what appears to be no reason by the posts that I can see. Only if the initial post is deleted, do members have a clue something happened. If a reply down if the thread is deleted, the members see nothing. Mod and admins can still see the post though.

That's new. We used to be able to see that there was a deletion. At least it's not me being stupid ... Thanks for the info.

Actually, no, it's not new. It's been that way for quite a while now.

So if a machine stutters or freezes or crashes and there are duplicate posts, even if we delete the duplicates, they still exist somewhere? Out of courtesy I try to tidy up after this machine, if I notice a repeat, but it might not make a difference. Carolly

Carolly, only admins or mods would be able to view it after deletion, so yeah it's still a good idea to delete duplicates. Makes it easier for everyone to read through the thread. :)

I noticed that too, Crescent. It used to show someone posted and deleted in the thread so you could look and it made a lot more sense than now where you just guess that someone must have posted something that made others react.
