Subject: Does anyone know how to reset parameter dials to zero

I made a prop in Rhino, exported it as an OBJ and imported this into Poser. I than set the parameter dials *scale* and *tran* to make the prop fit DAZ Mike v2. When I saved it as an Poser pp2 prop the dials were not set back to zero but kept the numbers I gave it.

Does anyone know how I can reset the dials to zero without changing the scale and position of the prop ?

I don't believe you can. The whole point of the dials is to show what's been done to the model from its obj file. If you reset the dials to zero (even in saving it), you'd have something that didn't fit anymore.

You have to export your prop as a obj again. Uncheck "export as morph target". Delete your prop from the scene and import again the new obj. You should have your prop with the size you set it to fit Mike and the dials set to zero. You probably will have to position it again to fit and parent it to Mike. Then save as a smart prop.

Staby, Thanks for the reply. As you said I exported it again as an OBJ (the export as morph target was already unchecked), I deleted the prop from the scene and imported the just saved OBJ again into Poser ... but nothing happened. The size is still the same as the original OBJ and I have to scale it again to make it fit. Any idea what I did wrong ?

I found that information in a previous thread, but I don't have the link anymore. It is a problem I had trying to convert free models found on the net into props, and I tested this method with a quick obj I modeled in Lightwave before posting and it worked. Did you exported the scaled prop as a obj and then reimported it? This is what I did and it worked. I copied the thread and saved it, but it is on my home PC. I will check it this evening...

Just checking, as you are reducing the whole scale to 16%, when you re-imported did you turn off the option to scale it to 100% of Poser figure size? Staby`s instructions are exactly right for exporting but you have to do things when importing too. Keep trying B) Mark

Yes, Routledge is right! Since I imported, exported and reimported all in one session of Poser the option to scale it to 100% of Poser figure size was unchecked yet. I didn't think about that sorry... If you do what Routledge says when you reimport it should work.

I unchecked the scale-option when I imported the OBJ again and it worked, the scale dial has been reset. Thanks !!
