As anyone who reads the Poser forum knows, I finally got my CD-R and am in the process of backing up everything for a reformat and install of Win98 (clean). Now--I've backed up a lot of stuff, BUT--when I was totally new to Bryce, I did not save all my downloaded objects and brought some in and then saved them in my object library. I am unable to determine just where this is in my Bryce folder. Is it even possible to back these up. I've gotten smarter and now have an object folder that I import from but I still often texture something the way I want and save it to the object library. So--what do you do? And--what should I back up--it looks as though maybe backing up 'preset' folder might get all my imported stuff--would this be true? And what else would you recommend (besides my own files of WIP, or saved works still in mesh mode). Diane B

Based on my understanding yes you could back up the Preset directory or you could go into each preset and select all of your materials and export them as one group to a place of your choosing and then re-import them after your fresh install. Oh yeah, after you install bryce before you do anything else, delete the presets you want to install and then just re-import all of your previous presets. They will come in as a group just like they went out. Theres a great tutorial on this in this forum. I think it's called "Downsizing Bryce". It'll explain in a little more detail what I'm talking about. This method can be a pain, but it's effective. Hope it helps. Nuke

Diane, thats my tutorial that Nuke mentioned, if you need help finding it, yu can visit my site on the sidebar(Chemical Studios) and its located in the tutorials section. Another thing if you want, is to just backup the entire Presets directory, then after you reinstall Bryce, simply copy the folder back into your Bryce directory overwriting the old, and It will be ready to go. O-KAY--that's easiest. I think I passed by that tutorial on your page recently and thought I'd go back and check it out but haven't yet. I visit your page fairly frequently G. I think I got spooked about this whole thing because I couldn't find object by object (which I guess I knew I wouldn't, knowing how Bryce and Poser are) but then I looked closely at the preset folder and that seemed how one would access them.
